Our Valentine’s Day Window: A Little Love Letter to Chapel Walk

Every season, our window tells a story - and this Valentine’s, it told one of joy, colour and thoughtful little moments of love.

Framed by our arched window on Chapel Walk, we wanted it to feel romantic but still very us. Not over-the-top, not too sugary - just warm, heartfelt and full of pieces you’d genuinely love to give (or receive).

A Canopy of Hearts

The first thing you saw was a garland of hanging hearts drifting across the top of the window - a mix of pinks, reds and playful prints that felt almost like they were floating. They softened the brick arch and created that instant “oh that’s lovely” moment as people walked past.

It was simple, but it made the whole space feel joyful.

Layers of Love

We styled the centre around our wooden console, layering:

  • Romantic red and blush candles

  • Thoughtful cards and keepsakes

  • Sweet little gifts perfect for Galentine’s or Valentine’s

  • Soft florals to bring everything to life

There were pops of red glass, delicate taper candles, tiny tokens and little surprises tucked on every shelf. Even the lower ledge had details - striped candlesticks, sweet dishes, and playful accents that made you want to lean in closer.

And of course, fresh flowers. Always fresh flowers. They make everything feel alive.

Cosy, Warm & Inviting

We kept the lighting soft and warm so that in the early evenings it glowed. The neutral lamp at the back balanced the pinks and reds so the whole window felt styled rather than busy.

It wasn’t just a display - it was an invitation.

An invitation to pop in.
To pick up something thoughtful.
To celebrate a friend.
To surprise someone you love.
Or to treat yourself (which we fully encourage).

Why We Love Valentine’s at Cornucopia

Valentine’s in an independent shop isn’t just about couples. It’s about:

  • Best friends

  • Mums

  • Daughters

  • Galentine’s dinners

  • Little acts of kindness

We loved seeing people stop outside, point things out to each other, and smile. That’s always the goal.

By the time it came down, we didn’t really want to say goodbye - which usually means we got it right.

Here’s to another season of storytelling in our little window.
